When you’re single and not in a relationship, you’re free to decide what you want to do with your life. That includes your sex life.
Many single men and women today enjoy making out with different partners. An exception would be those who have a steady date or in a serious relationship.
In terms of frequency, a 1994 research done at the University of Chicago found that the unmarried people went to bed less frequently than their married counterparts. While those in a commitment did the act nine times in a month, the singles did it only six times per month. This is for the younger age group 18 to 29 years old. Those older aged 40 to 49, the singles did it four times a month compared to the six times a month for the married ones.
In the area of endurance or stamina, the singles have the edge. The same study showed that some 30 percent of women who are not living with a man claimed they had sex for more than an hour. The figure is more than half than women who are in a live-in relationship (13 percent).
A different study, however, found a disadvantage for singles. A University of Carolina Chapel Hill research that covered 1,400 women of different ages revealed that 99 percent of the respondents.
Meanwhile, a new survey done by Match.com revealed more surprising facts about singles. For instance, the number of people meeting online is on the rise. In addition, more singles are already having sex on their first date while half claimed they might consider not getting married in the future. The Singles in America survey covered 5,500 single adults in the U.S.
If you’d like to know how singles meet these days. With the advent of the internet, more and more are meeting and dating online. The increasing number of online dating sites is a major proof of that. Among those surveyed, 21 percent said they met the person they last dated on the internet.
Sex on the first date is also becoming the norm today. Of the total number of respondents, 44 percent of women and 55 percent of men said they did it even on their first date. In addition, 51 percent of females and 65 percent of males had a one-night stand.
Another finding among singles pertains to their concept of marriage. The same survey showed that almost 40 percent admitted to be not sure enough about tying the knot in the future. On the other hand, some 27 percent were sure they don’t have desire to get married at all.
A disadvantage as well of being single is the fact that they are at risk of getting sexually transmitted diseases or getting pregnant unexpectedly. This is possible if they don’t protect themselves when having sex.
Fortunately, there’s the condom that they can use to ensure that they are safe and protected every time they engage in sex with different partners. With the various types of condoms that are not only thin but have no rubber odor to boot, they can be sure to have a pleasurable sexual experience every time as long as they use the rubber.
